Default Request Access to Brothers'/Sisters' Private Sections (read the first post before you reply/apply)

    Al-Salamu 'alaykum,

    Brothers/Men

This thread supersedes any previous threads on Brothers' Section entrance. If you have tried to apply for access by another method then please try again here as previous applications are no longer being processed.

Requests to gain access to the Brothers' Section can be made in this thread. They will only be agreed to if you have met all of the following criteria.
    (1) You have made at least 100 posts.

    (2) You are agreeing to keep the contents there private and take responsibility for protecting access to your account (i.e. logging out when you're not using it). If someone else uses your account (such as a spouse, a sibling or the next person after you in the internet cafe) to access the Brothers' Section then you will be held responsible for this and your access will be revoked.

    (3) You have found an existing member of the Brothers' Section who is prepared to vouch for you (see the important note below). You should have made arrangements with him before posting here. Do not post appeals in this thread asking for anyone to come forward and vouch for you as your post will be deleted. You must agree this with someone before you post here.

    (4) The person who has agreed to vouch for you should use the "report post" function on your request post (they click on the little triangle with the exclamation mark icon under your post) to send a message to the mods saying "Yes, I vouch for him." Alternatively, they could send a message saying "I don't know him" or "He asked me but I don't feel comfortable vouching for him." In these last cases we won't reveal that this has happened. And the post will be deleted after a week with the stated reason "Didn't meet the criteria." Note: New Brothers' Section members must wait one month before they can vouch for someone else.

    Important Note on Vouching:
When you vouch for someone, you are vouching that:

    (1) You know this person in some capacity in real life and that you know they are male. You've met before, you've spoken on the phone, you speak on Skype video cams, etc. Not that you remember seeing this person's username on a different forum or that you are Facebook friends;

    (2) You know this person to be "brotherly" in their conduct and behaviour, and not someone who will cause trouble in the section.

    Processing and Post Deletions

    • If this process has been completed properly, the user account will be granted Brothers' Section access and his post here will be deleted with the stated reason "resolved."
    • If you post without meeting the criteria, i.e. you don't have 100 posts and/or you don't cite the name of someone who will vouch for you then your post will be deleted as "Didn't meet the criteria."
    • If you post here and cite someone's name and they don't confirm through the reported post process mentioned above (either no reply, or not a favourable reply) within one week your post here (and consequently your request) will be deleted as "Didn't meet the criteria."
    • Any post or comment made by a sister in this thread will be deleted as "Not an application."
    • Any post by a brother in this thread which is not an application to join will be deleted as "Not an application", e.g. posts talking about how the section is top secret, it'll change your life, etc.
    • Do not use this thread to seek out people who could possibly vouch for you. Do that elsewhere in other threads or via pms to them. Such posts will be deleted as "Didn't meet the criteria."
    • Do not post in this thread to say that you know someone, let them post here in application first and then you can use the reported post function on their post (as explained above) to vouch for them. Such posts will be deleted as "Not an application."
    • The male moderators reserve the right to decline an application if we feel we have good reason to do so, as we may be aware of some posting activity of an individual that the person vouching for him is not (e.g. deleted posts, problems in private messaging / or rep messages). This would be done only on rare occasions. The application post would then be deleted in this thread with the stated reason "Didn't meet the criteria."
    • This is not a discussion thread it is only for applications, so any posts along the lines of "I think the brothers' section entrance should be ..." will be deleted as "Not an application."

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I don't have someone who knows me and can vouch for me, what can I do?

A: This is upon you to socialise with people here and when you find an existing Brothers' Section member who you get on well with, you can ask them if they'd be prepared to Skype or exchange phone numbers with you and that once they felt they knew you in real life they could vouch for you.
