help translate some words into arabic As salaamu aleikum everyone,
Can someone please translate these words for me? I am trying to learn Arabic and I think if I knew these words it would be very helpful for constructing sentences. If you can please write it in Arabic as well as transliteration it would be very nice. I know how to read but just want to make sure to get the proper pronunciation.
The words are:
to have
before
after
now
what
which
when
who
why
whose
how
for
that
because
only
to like
similar
without
so
May be we could use this thread to learn vocabularies.

Re: help translate some words into arabic My best effort:
before - kabl'
after - ba'ad
now - al' an
what - ma'tha
when - mata
who - men
why - limatha
how - keif
for - ilya
because - bisabab
Note that it's not strictly Fusha. I speak (I use the term very, very lightly) Arabic with a Yemeni dialect.

Re: help translate some words into arabic Let me try my best to translate these terms, and if anyone can correct my mistakes, I would be most thankful as I am in the learning process myself. I attempted these without using any books or online translation services, because I want to make sure that I am actually learning Arabic from memory.

Re: help translate some words into arabic Brother, I did not think that trying to learn Arabic would be considered ignorant or speaking without knowledge!
I did say that I am in the learning process and if I made a mistake, that is part of the learning process...

Re: help translate some words into arabic As salaamu alaykum wa ramatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
my dear brother mahmud87,
The questioner asked for someone to translate some words into Arabic.
You obviously do not know Arabic, so why did you even feel the need to reply to this thread when there are plenty of brothers and sisters on the forum who actually know Arabic who can answer?
I understand that you may have very good intentions and genuinely wanted to help, but as it clear from you reply you are NOT qualified to answer any questions about ARabic my dear brother.
Dear brother mahmud87, did you know that in al-Islaam you are rewarded by Allah for remaining silent when you do not know the answer to a question.
However, you may be punished by Allah for speaking without knowledge my dear brother, do you understand?
And this is a minor issue you are doing this in, can you imagine if you do this regarding a serious matter of Halaal and Haraam?
I hope you understand that rushing to speak without knowledge is a very bad habit, which if you can lose, it will protect you from harms in the future insha'Allah.
And Allah knows best.
was salaam.

Re: help translate some words into arabic My apologies, I was under the assumption that the "Learning Zone" sub-forum was for whats the word? Oh...learning...according to your logic, whenever a student cannot answer a question, he should not answer at all...I am assuming that you always received 100% on every test that you took
