    Please post any information here.

I have read there was a live appeal on Islaam Channel and protests outside the Egyptian and Israeli Embassy in London today, but I didn't come to know about it until it was too late. So please post any information here, so we may know in advanced. JZK.

List of Demonstrations in support of Palestinians

    Stop the Massacre of Palestinians!

Tuesday, December 30: National Day of Action
Emergency Demonstrations on Tuesday, December 30 and other days

See below for an updated listing of demonstrations

The ANSWER Coalition, Muslim American Society Freedom, Free Palestine Alliance, National Council of Arab Americans, and Al-Awda, International Palestine Right to Return Coalition are calling for Tuesday, December 30 to be a National Day of Action to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and to demand an immediate end to the murderous attacks carried out by the Israeli military against the people of Gaza.

In Washington, D.C., there will be a demonstration at the State Department at 4:30 pm.

Demonstrations will also be held in cities around the country. See below for an updated listing of demonstrations.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza have been massacred and wounded yesterday and today in Israel's massive bombing campaign against the people of Gaza. The bombing rampage began as thousands of Palestinian children were in the streets on their way home from school. Palestinian parents were running frantically in the streets looking for their children as U.S.-provided F-16s and Apache helicopters rained down more than 100 bombs and missiles on Gaza.

The U.S.-backed Israeli Occupation Force destroyed every security station in Gaza. AFP reported: "There was no space left in the morgue and bodies were piled up in the emergency room and in the corridors, as many of the wounded screamed in pain."

Because of the U.S.-backed Israeli blockade and strangulation of the people of Gaza for the past 18 months there is little or no medicine to treat the wounded, electricity for hospitals, or food or clean water for much of the population.

An Israeli military spokesperson said, "The operation is ‘only just beginning’." The Israeli Defense Ministry said in a statement: "The action will continue and will widen as much as is demanded according to the evaluation of the situation by the high command of the army."

    Take Action:
    - Demonstrations Across the Country
    - Send a letter to the State Department and Congress

I went to the DC rally and it was a huge turn out people of all faiths.. not just
Muslims showed up in protest... I was surpirsed... young and old.. all races...... Unfortunately the rally had to be turned into a march because the police would not allow the people to congregate and stand in front of neither the state department nor the white house for long... it made me mad.. because they kept making us move and there were people there with seniors and children and so much walking is not really possible for many.... there is another protest in front of the Israeli embassy on Sat... I am organizing that the children at our masjid make hundreds of green paper birds to place in rememberance of the Children killed in the massacre... to be placed in front of the embassy... maybe some of you can plan something similar at your own rallies...

A lot of people/organisations are collecting money for Gaza, what I want to know is, how will they get the money into Gaza when there is a blockade?

Good question it is for this reason I have not donated money... there are many who try to profit from tragedy like this...

I've also noticed that the time for many of the protests esepcially in the US is late... when most of these offices and facilites are closed and I wonder... who is gonna see or hear us?... sometimes it seems that some of the rallies and such are just resume builders and such for organizers that work for the organizations.... but I want to stay positive..

however the best action is actually to write legislators... congress members and executive policy makers... especially all elected officials.. and let them know that no action= no confidence in their leaderdship.. which then= NO VOTE!!! which = NO job for them next term.... some officials can even be unseated if people are unsatisfied by their performance... (except in the case of Bush... but I don't even want to start with that)...

Maybe the UK has a better system..... I think maybe it is most effective to sign petitions and send letters... find or create organizations and send letters to leadership....

The organisations work with other organisations that do the ground work and it's these bodies that need the funding. The blockade will insha'Allah not affect them greatly. The Palestinian-Egyptian border opens for 2 hours every day for relief work via Rafah - so some of the donations are utilised by these relief bodies as they try to purchase medical equipment and food and get it through the border during those short 2 hours.

Other than the obvious call for du'a, please also keep the volunteers and relief workers in your ad'iya so that Allah may give them tawfiq to help their brothers and sisters across the border.

I think as long as we give to established charities the money should get to where it's supposed to InshaAllah.

I wasn't questioning whether the money was getting in, I just wanted to know how.

May Allah give us all the taufeeq and the means to help with our wealth Aammen.
