Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un.
Subhan'Allah it's easy mistake those pictures for Hiroshima/Nagasaki in 1945 - what cold blooded heartless people.
and some scholars would have said that action was justified to eliminate the terrorist threat!
may Allah swt destroy those who are responsible
Shocking, I agree. Almost all the damage was from heavy artillery; there was very little aerial bombing. Roughly 35,000 people used to live in Nahr al-Bared. Most of them evacuated to another Palestinian camp, I forget the name, but around 500 or 600 Fatah al-Islam members and Palestinians were killed, plus around 160 Lebanese.
The Salafist Qaida-friendly group Fatah al-Islam was well armed with good rifles and some artillery pieces and mortars. I don't know who paid for those weapons or how they were got into the Palestinian camp within Lebanon. FaI leader Shakir al-'Absi is missing, reported captured in Syria, and probably dead by now.
