Moderators are probably thinking "This has nothing to do with politics"

    Political Turbulence Yahya Ibrahim
Riots. Rebellion. Revolutions. Is change in the air or chaos? Shaykh Yahya Ibrahim will discuss what Muslims in the West should do at times of turbulence? Who should we blame and what should we brace? Face political fitnah with the Prophet’s Sunnah (s.a.w).

This is one of the topics in hand, and the lecturer in question seems no good to me, especially what his ilk did to Tarek.

    Should I go or not?

maybe just for a day out, but yes your right these salafis dont know what time of day it is.

but they also change with the wind. so most likely he will support the rebellions.

if he doesnt then look around whos listening?? salafis dont really matter in the big scheme of things.

I would never go and see Yahya Ibrahim under any circumstances.

Just look at his views on Muslim Matters.

    Despicable.

Yes, that is my opinion. When it comes to matters of Jihad, Politics, or Current Affairs in the Muslim World - then it is best to stay away from most of these speakers. And that is not to say that they are bad, but only that they either cannot speak their minds, or are limited by audience (American Muslims) or maybe they really just have a colonized house negro inferior mindset.

An exceptions to this would be Sheikh Abdur Raheem Green (who I think attends Journey of Faith). If he did something on Politics, or Jihaad - I would definitely go listen to that lecture.

(This is because I have always heard him talk good about the Jihaad today, and the mujahideen. Add to that, he participated in Jihaad Fee Sabeelillah in Afghanistan for a short time. He is unlike Sh.Yasiq Qadhi, or Sh. Waleed Basyouni - from whom I have heard only bad things about the Mujahideen and Jihaad fee Sabeelillah today.)

But other than the couple of subjects mentioned above, I think it's perfectly alright to go listen to lectures on everything else. They are pretty solid in terms of talking about "Taqwa" or "The Importance of Salah, or Fasting, or Charity" etc. Which in themselves are pretty important topics.

So that would be my opinion. Stay away from the Political side, but do attend because there are many good speakers, and lecture topics which we can relate to living in the West - and can benefit from in our daily lives.

So my advice, once again, would be to go and benefit from it - but just to stay away from all the Political, Jihaad, Current Affairs, etc. lectures. Unless they are given by Sheikh Abdur Raheem Green.

    And Allah knows best.

You should definitely come ahki, and take ahmad10's advice if anything. And just like intoodeep stated make it a day out. Come chill at the bazaar during these lectures if you don't want to listen to them. I bought my ticket a few days ago.

Its always nice to see a big congregation of muslims Masha'Allah, so I'd say go for that reason and of course theres always some khayr to benefit.

I personally enjoyed journey of faith the first and second year when the topics were about Allah and our rasuul sallahu alayhi wasalam, The set up was also way more segregated (seating plan) back then.. last year was somewhat awkward.. too much mixing. I hope this year is a bit better Inshaa'Allah

I boycott all of Al-Maghrib's events. I suggest you do the same. Don't give them your money.

It was peace tv's idea to have it like that, but the set up is returning back to normal alhamdulillah.

Adem this isn't an al-maghrib event.

Do you know the organizers bro? Tell them to take that Politics topic away from Yahya Ibrahim.. He is the least fit to deliver on that sensitive topic.

When I read the title, I thought you were going on a real journey of faith...like going for hajj or making hijra fi sabilillaah..

    I was disappointed :p .

    Home or Hijrah Panel Discussion
Should Muslims stay in the West or do Hijrah? What and where is home? Exciting Baat Cheet with Scholars and Students of knowledge: where Muslims belong and how do we stay strong? Should we work hard or boycott?

    This is another topic

I don't see the problem with this topic. I do believe it will be interesting with the panel discussion. There are those who strongly advocate hijrah and those that oppose it.

I pray to Allah that I and the muslimeen do not become deprived of knowledge to the extent where I have to go lower myself enough to sit in a lecture fronted by Basyouni, Ibrahim or Qadhi and others like them. I can benefit more by going on Youtube and listening to someone who actually hasn't got the genetic tendencies of a donkey. May Allah guide them and protect others from falling into the traps that they have fallen into.
