Ameerul-Mu’mineen, Abi Hafs Umar ibn Khattab (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that: “The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: (The value of) an action depends on the intention behind it. A man will be rewarded only for that he intended. The emigration of one who emigrates for the sake of Allaah and His Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) is for the sake of Allaah and His Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ; and the emigration of one who emigrates for gaining a worldly advantage or for marrying a woman is for what he has emigrated.”

Narrated Salim Abu An-Nadr: The freed slave of 'Umar bin 'Ubaidullah who was 'Umar's clerk: 'Abdullah bin Abi Aufa wrote him (i.e. 'Umar) a letter that contained the following:-- "Once Allah's Apostle (during a holy battle), waited till the sun had declined and then he got up among the people and said, "O people! Do not wish to face the enemy (in a battle) and ask Allah to save you (from calamities) but if you should face the enemy, then be patient and let it be known to you that Paradise is under the shades of swords." He then said,, "O Allah! The Revealer of the (Holy) Book, the Mover of the clouds, and Defeater of Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans of infidels), defeat them infidels and bestow victory upon us." (Bukhari & Muslim) - (The Arabic Text is taken from Umdat ul-Ahkaam)

The Messenger (s) said, "On the Day of Judgement, sealed scrolls (of a person) will be brought in front of Allah tabaraka wa ta'ala, and He will say, "Reject this one and accept this one." So the Angels will say, "By Your Honour, we have only seen good (from this person)," and so Allah `azza wa jall will say, "Indeed, this act was done seeking other than My Face and indeed, I do not accept other than that which was done seeking my Face."

  7. It was narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“On the Day of Resurrection, those who were hale and hearty will wish that their skin had been cut with scissors, when they see the reward of those who were put to trial.”

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 3:573, Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "When Allah ordains something on the Heaven the angels beat with their wings in obedience to His Statement which sounds like that of a chain dragged over a rock. His Statement: 'Until when the fear is banished from their hearts, the Angels say, 'What was it that your Lord said?' They reply, 'He has said the Truth. And He is the Most High, The Great.' "

Abu Huraira said, that the Prophet (SAW) said: “The Hell complained to her Rabb: O my Rabb! I am eating myself. He allowed her two breaths: One in winter and the other one in summer, and that is why you feel the heat in Summer and the cold in Winter.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

    Nice thread, Jazakallah khayran.

    Simply beautiful:

The messenger of Allah (saw) said, "All of my nation will enter paradise except those who refuse." His companions asked, "Who would refuse?" He answered, "Whoever obeys me will enter paradise; whoever disobeys me has refused (to enter paradise)." (Bukhari)

Abu Dawood (3462) narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: I heard the
Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say:

“When you engage in ‘aynah transactions (a kind of transaction intended to
circumvent the prohibition on riba or usury), and you take hold of the tails
of oxen and you are content with agriculture (at the time when jihad is
obligatory), and you give up jihad, then Allaah will send upon you
humiliation that will not be dispelled until you return to your religion,
Allaah will send upon you humiliation that will not be dispelled until you
return to your religion, Allaah will send upon you humiliation that will not
be dispelled until you return to your religion.”

'O my Rabb, teach me something through which I can remember You and supplicate to You.'
Allah answered: 'Say, O Musa, La ilaha ilIa-Allah'. Musa said: 'O my Rabb, all your slaves say these words'.
Allah said: 'O Musa, if the seven heavens and all they contain other than Me and the seven earths as well, were all put in one side of a scale and La ilaha ilIa-Allah put in the other the latter would overweigh them.'"

A dear friend shared this hadith with me which was very inspiring.

"Verily, from amongst My slaves is he whose faith cannot be rectified except by good health, and were I to make him sick, it would surely corrupt him. Verily, from amongst My slaves is he whose faith cannot be rectified except by disease and illness, and were I to make him healthy, it would surely corrupt him. Verily, from amongst My slaves is he who seeks worship by a certain act but I prevent that from him so that self-amazement does not enter his heart. Certainly, I run the affairs of My slaves by My Knowledge of what is in their hearts. Certainly, I am the All-Knower, All-Aware.”

    Reported by al-Tabarani. See also: al-Silsilah al-Sahihah by al-Albani

This is probably all my fault :( but I translated this narration a while ago and after posting it I realised there was a mistake in the publication - the narration is actually in al-Albani's dha'ifah (not sahihah), so it's a weak narration. However, the meaning is still true insha'Allah (and backed by other narrations). Please see here for full post/hadith: ‘By My Knowledge of your heart…’ « |-| Fajr |-|

"Al-Haakim has narrated and said: "Its chain is Sahih",

  19. Perseveranze

    Perseveranze لا إله إلا الله

    The Prophet's bravery and courage:

    Abu Usamah At-Thahabi

Ali (رضي الله عنهم ) said: 'When the war become hot and we met and faced the enemy, we shielded ourselves behind the Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) and there was no one who was closer to the enemy than he was'. Ahmed

But instead, he was on the battlefield to either kill the enemy or to be killed by them, in the cause of Allah and in defending Islam. An example of this is what has been collected by Imam Muslim on the authority of Salamah ibn Al-Akwa' (رضي الله عنهم ). He narrated that in the battle of Hunain, many of those who accompanied the Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) , after being defeated by the Kuffar, they turned away from the battlefield.

Salamah ibn Al-Akwa' (رضي الله عنهم ) said: 'And I also turned away defeated, and I was wearing two mantles. One was used to cover my lower extremities and the other was used to cover my shoulders. And my Izaar became unfastened so I gathered all of my clothes together. He said, 'I passed by the Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) while in this defeated state and he was riding on his white mule. The Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) said to me, "Verily Ibn Al-Akwa' finds himself as being utterly perplexed"

In this hadith, Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنهم ) described the Prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) as being the bravest of the people because, as we can see, all of the people made preparations to meet the pending danger (noise) by completely preparing themselves for battle. They saddled their animals and they gathered their weapons. Whereas
the Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه و سلم ) simply jumped on his horse, and took the closet weapon he could find and he went directly towards the danger.

    Subhanallah
